つくね一期 Tsukune Ichigo

Our dept. held our クリスマス会・忘年会・送別会・送迎会 at Tsukune Ichigo, 399 River Valley Road.

Wow...this is the best yakitori in Singapore!! No wonder is moi's bosses favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore!
Everything is so yummy here, really EVERYTHING, there are no misses.

TCC

Moi and Ste met for our first tuition session heehee.

We had a quick chit chat and dinner first at TCC then proceeded with the serious business.
Moi ordered the mushroom and broccoli pasta, yummy but with strong garlic after taste.Ste's baked pasta

Naumi Hotel

We were invited to Naumi Hotel for site inspection and dinner :) Lucky!~

This is a very pretty boutique hotel, we all loved it.
Hotel manager was very kind to specially arrange set dinners for all of us!
Usually the Naumi Bar only serves ala carte and set meals have to be arranged beforehand.
This is the mushroom soup with bread stick, tastes suspiciously like Campbells soup hahaGreen salad with Japanese dressing...Yummy!!Seafood salad...very good too!Moi's orange juice, so sweeeetOk, now for the main course:
This is the pink dory fish, yum yum, fish was so soft and fresh!Roast chicken...this is GOOD!! Very very good!!Chicken penne...easily can be moi's favorite pasta meal!!!!!! Wanna come back here to eat this again!Sauteed prawns...very fresh and yummy!!For desserts, we were served,

Toa Payoh Lor 1

For toi and moi, this is the best hokkein mee in Singapore.This is how a yummy hokkein mee should taste like, this is it liao.It's so good that toi can eat 2 plates in a single seating!We also shared kwap chapToo full liao had to takeaway the famous carrot cake :)Yum yum yummy!

Sakae Sushi

One of the Li-sisters redeemed her credit card points for S$100 dining voucher so generously invited 5 of us to feast with her :) thank you!

Holiday Inn Parkview

The hotel sales personnel invited moi's colleague down to their private Christmas party and moi tagged along :)

We were being shown around to their newly furnished premier rooms before dinner...but we had to wait till 1930hrs before we could eat :(
Moi's colleague went to chiong the sashimi and sushi firstWhile moi chiong to the other corner to get yakitori, unagi, prawns and mango & yam rollBut that's all leh, no more main course liao leh...c'est tout, period.
There was only desserts in the other corner and drinks
Dun even have fried rice or fried bee hoon for moi lor...But there was lucky draw and they were pretty generous with their prizes, with S$500 shopping vouchers and 3D2N suite stays! Overall we enjoyed ourselves, thanks for the invitation!

The Asian Kitchen

It was one of the Li-sisters birthday and we celebrated it during lunch at The Asian Kitchen, Republic Plaza branch.

We pre-ordered our food and reserved a table so that we did not have to wait long, and it can get frustrating as the place is always crowded during lunch! When we left at 12.30hrs, the queue was sooooo long lor...very good business.
Moi's Fried rice with egg, plain simple but enough to cheer Moi (who has just returned from medical leave) up :)We also ordered this yummy toufu dish to share, very nice Moi lurves! It's sprinkled with crushed peanuts.And not forgetting the famous xiao long baos.Vegetables with mushrooms, yummy!Moi's coll's dan dan mian + mian cos the normal serving is just miserable...

Lao Beijing

Steps Prince and Moi decided to take a break from Tuesday's double steps and try out yoga instead haha so that we can age gracefully?? Heehee.

So we ended up in Novena and since the class ends early, we can enjoy a leisurely dinner after that.
Steps Prince recommended Lao Beijing, as Moi was coming down with flu, we ordered the "cooling" soup, 清炖凉瓜排骨汤. Very sweet very yummyThe interior of the restaurant is decorated like those 客站 we normally see in chinese martial arts movie, with big pots of wine waiting to be served to some kungfu master who is on his way to some 武林大会 haha开胃菜 was think some spicy szechuan or pickled vege京酱肉丝 with 白面皮 wrap, very tasty!农家香干煲 which is tofu with spicy gravy in claypot

Our little Singapore city is infiltrated with tons of HK cafe these couple of years...

Toi hates them but still willing to try out this one with moi for dinner.

Although there is just one outlet opposite Moi's office building, but Moi has never get to try it.

Gayatri, yummy Indian food

Toi and moi are back at our favorite Indian place for Indian rice!!

We both ordered plain rice set with 2 free flow vegetable sides.
Pappadum dipped in yummy fish curry while waiting for the mains to be served.We also ordered potato and deep fried cauliflower to eat with our rice.So yummy yummy!!
If we lose more weight, we will definitely order the briyani rice set :)

Claypot rice @ Arcade

Steps Prince and Moi met for a light dinner before double steps class.

Yummy claypot rice dinner set...a bit pricey at around S$15.00 with drink and konnyaku dessert.
Serving also very small compared to the one Toi and Moi enjoyed at Chinatown (the yummiest claypot rice!)...

Yummy snack from Tokyo

Moi bought this from Tokyo recently.Singapore is selling the original Genji Pie without the chocolate coating @ S$5.00

This pack of mini Genji Pies with chocolate coating is only retailing at Yen105!!
And so so yummy!!

Dallas Fried Chicken@Upp cross st

Moi got to know of this UK fried chicken franchise shop from a colleague.

The reviews wrote that it's better than KFC, really??!! Have to check it out then :PIt's probably seasoned with curry powder cos it's a bit spicy, a bit tastier than KFC's as it's more flavorful.
However moi's maman say it's dry, not juicy like KFC.
But it seems to be less oilier than KFC.

Moi had a small snack before meeting old poly classmates for dinner at 7pm.

Happened to walk past MOS Burger and saw the poster outside, Oyako don moi like, wonder how will the Oyako burger taste like...so went it to try it out.
Not really very nice leh...tastes a bit bland, not tasty enough.

Tonkichi Bento - Sashimi set

Moi's boss chose this Sashimi with chicken teriyaki set for our GM meeting.

Comes with a rosu katsu as well.
Yum yum :)But moi didn't eat the sashimi, gave it to tea lady to bring home and eat it cooked with instant noodles instead, she said it's very sweet and nice as it's very fresh...

Lunch with Toi

Toi met moi for lunch at work and we went over to the new coffee shop for indian mixed rice and pratas :)Besides our rice, we shared a plain prata and an egg prata!!Yummy!

Lunch at 桜庵 Oh-an (Former Nanten)

The newly furnished restaurant is definitely prettier, brighter and looks more spacious.If you order before 12pm, you can get around 10% off from the bill.
The day's special was tonkatsu with simmered chicken wings at S$16Tonkatsu was a bit tough, but what can you expect for S$16 right...Simmer chicken wings was so so nice!!! The daikon was so soft and 够味, we love!!

Recently, Moi has been having these double boiled soups with rice at the foodcourts for lunch and dinner.

This particular day before gym, moi had the herbal double boiled soup and steam chicken with salted fish over rice.

We even bought a birthday cake to celebrate 次長's birthday!

Moi's coll went over to the nearby Cedele to buy, it was the last one, lucky she was fast :)

Our team went to this restaurant famous for cold crabs to celebrate our 次長's 40th birthday.

Tokyo Day 10: NRT - SIN, dinner

Dinner was chicken with rice or beef with rice...yawnz...how boring...Oooo

Not memorable one...In Tokyo, moi and carnivore ling had wanted to try the krispy kreme donuts so much!!!!!
BUT, it was long queue lor in both Shinjuku and Shibuya outlets :(

We were served pretzels before dinner was served.

The last meal we had before we leave Tokyo was McDonald's. A bit sad maybe?

Tokyo Day 10: Tenya Tendon

This is our last day in Tokyo.

We checked out at 10am, deposited our bags at the concierge and walked around until 11.30am till Tendon Tenya opens :)

P.S. We bought the 天丼のたれ from them. It only costs Yen280 per bottle...but after trying it, don't tink it taste that great with Thai fragrant rice as compared to Japanese rice leh...

Tokyo Day 9: Dinner

Really really exhausting after 8 days of shopping, walking...3 of us felt so so tired on this 2nd last day of our Tokyo trip.

After tonkatsu lunch, we walked over to the nearby Jusco for some shopping, thinking to return to hotel to put down the stuff then take the train to Ikebukuro but Moi and Carnivore Ling knocked out once we hit the room hahahha.
In the end, we skipped Ikebukuro and went over to 南砂町 to visit the new shopping center, SUNAMO.
Then Stefi called to arrange to meet for dinner and we returned back to 西葛西 to meet her at 21:00hrs. She suggested dinner at ガスト :)

We skipped breakfast as we woke up late, but no complaints as we are looking forward to our tonkatsu lunch haha!!

There is this yummy Tonkatsu restaurant near our hotel, as recommended by Stefi.

3 of us went into the quaint restaurant and dao bao after our exhausting day of shopping at Shibuya.
We were even served green tea while waiting :) so nice
So crispy and tender!We shall go back to the restaurant for lunch another day heehee

Tokyo Day 8: 王将

It's quite scary and felt a bit weird as this place was packed with men only, only about 1-2 women and they came with their boyfriends...wonder why no woman choose to dine here??

We bought burgers from McDonald's in Gotemba, thinking to eat it on the bus ride back to Shinjuku but we all slept on the bus instead haha...shopping can get tiring :P

So we could only eat it back in the hotel, before going to Stefi's house for dinner feast heehee

Tokyo Day 7: Crepes

We are still at Gotemba, there aren't that much restaurants in the compound and besides we couldn't waste time sitting around to have a proper meal as the bus leaves at 15:00 sharp, if we miss that, we have to take the train back and it will cost us at least S$100...

So we just stopped by to grab a quick bite at the crepe house.

Tokyo Day 7: Gotemba

After a 1hr 40mins bus ride from Shinjuku, we arrived at Gotemba, the famous factory outlet.

So unbelievable, after the big plate of spaghetti, moi is hungry again!!
So fast haha, so quickly went to buy a ham and cheese sandwich.Not exactly yummy but hungry so no choice la

Tokyo Day 7: コンビに朝食（スパゲティー）

Moi bought this from Family Mart the night before.

This is so good, ナポリタンスパゲティー

Tokyo Day 6: てんや天丼

JJ told moi this is a must try as it's cheap and yummy, lucky there is one outlet just near our hotel!

Ebi tendon with the autumn season udon set 合鴨小うどんセットAll of us had the Ebi tendon which has 3 prawns, pumpkin, squid, long beans.SO YUMMY, SO YUMMY, SO YUMMY
We will definitely be back for more!!

Tokyo Day 6: Santouka 山頭火

After having convenience store bento for breakfast, we shopped around Shinjuku and only felt hungry at around 4pm!

Carnivore Ling had craving for ramen so lucky we spotted Santouka!
Yes we have this in Singapore as well, let's see if it's any different in Tokyo.
You can find free pitcher of ice water on every table in most ramen shops in Japan.湯で餃子 (this is very very yummy!)Carnivore Ling's 大辛ramen, looks spicy hor!Ste's miso ramen, damn yummy!!!Moi's shio ramen, moi lurve!!!It tastes yummier in Tokyo than in Singapore haha

It's shopping today at Shinjuku!

No time to spare, breakfast was settled in the hotel room as we bought bentos the night before.

Tokyo Day 5: Disney Sea dinner

We dined on board The Titanic!

The restaurant look very class, exactly like Titanic, and each dish was expensive, around Yen1900.3 different types of bread was served, lay out in Mickey Mouse shape of cos.Tastes best with butter :)Carnivore Ling's scallops with prawnsMoi's grilled chickenSte's grilled salmonAll very yummy!!

Moi went to Ariel's world to have lunch while Carnivore Ling and Ste were screaming somewhere in the park ahahhaha.

So tired from the whole day's walking!!

Tokyo Day 2: KFC

After visiting Asakusa Temple, we were tired and hungry...

We have talked about trying KFC in Japan, just to see if it's any different from Singapore's and were happy to see a KFC nearby :)The boneless chicken (not crispy enough like those 炸鸡排from Taiwan, but Carnivore Ling likes themTheir chicken also not as crispy as those in Singapore, definitely smaller in size as well.They have gratin on their menu as wellEverything is mini-sized leh...not really satisfying lor when back in Singapore, moi alone can finish 4 piece chicken...KFC's much more expensive in Japan too.

Tokyo Day 2: Breakfast at Hotel

The hotel we stayed in serves basic and simple breakfast fare like buns, potato salad, boiled vegetables, corn flakes.

There was also cold milk, yogurt, tea and coffee, orange juice.The buns were yummy!!

However the pork and prawns in the okonomiyaki was very little, a bit short changed, the ones from Osaka were more generous and yummier.

Moi was hungry, and as we still had around 1.5hrs to spare before we catch the bus to hotel, we chose this restaurant called えびす亭 for late lunch.

Meow Meow lover brought back a carton of 40 packets of these for her Honey from her recent trip back to Jakarta. She generously gave Toi and Moi a few packets to try.

Have to spread the condiments and sauces on the plate first.

Then mix it with the cooked noodles.

Dumb dumb waffle maker > o <

Yes moi bought this dumb dumb waffle maker from the French hypermarket that sticks to the hotplate no matter how much oil you grease it with...(but it's supposed to be non-stick rite?...)

After leaving the waffle mix in it for more than 20 mins, it got burnt (proving that the thermostatic light which is supposed to indicate to you when the waffle is ready, doesn't work...) as there was no indication whatsoever :(

This is the end result after 5 exhausting and draining attempts.

In the end this dumb dumb piece of equipment landed down Toi's rubbish chute

Seems like this restaurant was featured on TV before, guaranteed food served within 8 mins...

Wedding banquet yesterday, tea ceremony today. Moi's relatives prepared nasi lemak with sardine for breakfast.
Damn good! The best!! Plus some cakes :)

It's the reason why we travelled so far - for the wedding dinner.
Moi was full of high expectations cos Malaysia's wedding banquet is always yummy...but this one not so leh :(

Roasted chicken - waaaaaa salty sia!

Abalone with sea cucumber - it's not abalone it's 鲍贝lorrrr

Prawns with thousand island sauce - this one good!

Special glutinuous rice - moi never eat cos can't take glutinuous rice

Sweetened coconut pudding - never eat this too cos coconut intolerant, but it looks like longan tofu

Moi's relatives brought us to this coffeeshop, famous for its noodles made with water from the mountain.

Not bad but not the best haha.

Yong tau fu wasn't too bad either.

Give moi a tub of KFC anytime of the day man, nevermind that it's already 22:00hrs and have to wake up at 4am the next morning to catch the flight to Kuantan!

Plus the BEST soya beancurd moi has ever tasted!!

After walking around The Curve for around 30 mins, we finally decided to have dinner at this hakka restaurant...it was already around 2050hrs then...

Ma Famille had to attend relative's wedding dinner in Kuantan, we flew off to KL first for some shopping.

Before we board the plane, we had Hans lunch at the Budget Terminal.

After the 3 egg pratas, Toi and Moi were hungry again awhile later, so we shared a bowl of shio ramen from Bishamon.~sigh~ rubbish ramen

soup reeks heavily of fried shallots, ramen still not completely cooked yet.

This mini ramen costs S$8, we both agreed the 肉挫面 at Bedok is much much more satisfying and best thing is it's only S$2 a bowl.

We promise to just stick to Menya Shinchan's ramen when in Singapore...

Roti Prata from Arab Street

Toi and Moi had yummy egg pratas for dinner from Arab Street, just in front of the famous Sultan Mosque.

So so yummy!! 2 of us shared 3 egg pratas :)

One can find delicious murtabaks and pratas and briyani along that stretch.

Moi and frens enjoyed afternoon tea again, this time at Conrad hotel.

Our 3 tier tray, with scones and sandwiches.

Besides the tray, there's a wide variety of assorted cookies, chocolates, fruits, pastries.

The cookies are yum yum, so are the croissants :)

Definitely more variety to choose from compared to Fullerton Hotel's but the latter's sandwiches and scones are yummier.

Can have 2 different types of either coffee or tea from the quite extensive selection

Garibaldi Italian Restaurant

Our department went on a 試食会to Garibaldi as we will be engaging their catering services for a company function.

They prepared a selection of antipasti for us
