Toi's profile - There's not even a teeny weeny bit of drama-ness in him...

You Are As Cool As They Come

Rational and relaxed, no one could accuse you of being dramatic.
You roll with the punches, and nothing ever gets you too worked up.
You are able to maintain perspective and see the big picture.

And even if you're emotional inside, you don't let it show.
You're great at keeping it together, and you're rewarded for that.
People see you as an ideal friend, employee, and partner.

D-Day Victory to us!

Victory!
We have triumphed over the silly curly-haired auntie in Tuesday Double Steps class!

Steps Prince and Moi banished the auntie to the side rows after much strategizing.
She didn't get her favourite spot this week! *Hip hip Hurray* *Hip hip Hurray*

Here's Steps Prince vow: AS LONG AS I COME FOR THIS TUESDAY CLASS, SHE'LL NEVER BE GETTING HER FAVOURITE SPOT EVER AGAIN!

FWAHHHHHH!!!

IT'S OFFICIAL! I'M A DRAMA PRINCESS! (take the test too!)

You Are a Drama Princess (or Prince)

You're not over the top dramatic, but you have your moments.
You know how to steal the spotlight...
And how to act out to get your way.

People around you know that you're good for a laugh.
But at times, your drama gets a bit too much for everyone.
Tone it down a tad, and you'll still be the center of attention.

Nostalgic food journey back in TP

Moi brought Toi to Moi's childhood place for lunch one scorching hot Sunday afternoon.

We ordered the fabulously yummy Hokkein Mee and the supa delicious Char Kueh (white version).
Toi gave two thumbs up!!
It's so amazing that they still taste the same like 20+ years ago.

The auntie who fries the Char Kueh still looks the same even after 20+ years!

Dim Sum brekkie @ Geylang

Had my favourite Siew Mai for breakfast one sunny Saturday morning.

That's the curry puff.
Drinks are served in microwavable containers...funny hor

My siew mai and glutinous rice

Toi is thinking of bringing his whole family there for breakfast feasting one of these days.
So till then, I'll come back with more yummy photos :)

It's War!

Went for double steps last night and had an unpleasant encounter with this short, curly-haired Obasan...she infuriated our Steps Prince - Dom too.
Here is what happened...
19:15 Moi was waiting right in front of the studio doors while Steps Prince was inside doing
crunches

19:30 Silly Obasan arrived, squeezed and pushed Moi away from the front of the studio doors with her equally silly green bag

19:35 Current class dismissed and Obasan dashed into the studio, oblivious that she had once again, slammed her silly green bag into Moi

19:35:15 At this point, Steps Prince had already placed 3 sets of risers and was off to get the boards. Moi went to get boards too. Obasan then had the audacity to steal a set of risers from us by throwing her towel on the spot to indicate that it belonged to her!!!

19:35:30 We confronted her. She said that that set of risers and that spot is HERS. We told her NO, IT'S OURS but she said NO, IT'S MINE COS THIS IS MY TOWEL!!

19:36:00 Seeing that it's pointless to argue with her, Moi then proceeded to shift our boards to another spot lest we end up with no board/spot.

19:36:45 Steps Prince went over to Obasan to demand that she give us back the set of risers as he was the one who took it. Obasan returned it.

19:38 Steps Prince was seething with anger...He asked me why Moi let her have the spot. We should have insisted and he don't give a damn even if all 3 of us stand there arguing for the 1 hour.

19:39 Moi went to check with the other regulars and it's unanimous. The Obasan is a big big unreasonable bully who goes around stealing other peoples boards and risers and claiming it as her own. They say next time, we should just throw away her towel.

So next Tuesday if she fights for spot with us again, we should just kick her towel away. But karma leh... :(

Traditional Chinese (Taoist) Dinner

Had a scumptious 9-course dinner (alfresco-style) with Toi and family at one of the Taoist temples last night.
All around, the atmosphere was so vibrant!

There was the auction going on in eloquent Hokkein while dinner was served by fervent middle-aged waitresses who couldn't wait to refill your glasses with freshly brewed ginseng tea, 7-up and even Hennessey VSOP.

Dinner was prepared by this restaurant - 建發席館
The disposable chopsticks holder looks so vintage. I like :)

1st dish was 寿桃 (Steamed pink-colored buns with lotus paste fillings)
As usual, I forgot to take picture and scared Toi & family by giving a startled gasp towards the end of the 2nd dish...

This was the cold platter for 2nd dish. I think the Laughing Buddha in the middle of the plate is made of pure sugar???

3rd dish - Sharks' Fin soup

Guess what's the next dish??

Ta-Da...4th dish, Roasted suckling pig served with not-so-crispy-liao crackers.

This yummy stewed vegetarian dish was the 5th dish for the night.

6th dish: Steamed fish (very fresh!) in oh-so-sweet sauce.

My favourite prawns (yum yum!) was the 7th dish.
It was so nice!!

It was at this point when the wet towels were bundled & strewn haphazardly onto every table.
Haha...another distinct classic

8th dish - Kong Bak with Pau (Braised Pork with plateful of heated mantous) YUM!

9th and final dish was the Almond Longan dessert.

Overall: I Lurved the dinner!
