IKEA lunch
Toi and Moi went to the new Ikea during the weekend (Sat AND Sun ok).
We went to their famous cafe and as usual, it was packed like crazy.
It is bigger than the Queenstown one though but nonetheless still packed packed packed.
Seems like there isn't any capacity big enough to accommodate Singaporeans in Ikea...
So we had no choice but to packet Nasi Padang (as there wasn't any queue...the main queue for meatballs and the usual stuff were so so looooong) and eat standing-up at one of the standing booths downstairs where the hot dogs are sold.
Our Nasi Padang lunch fare: The chilli sotong & fried chicken were YUM! Of cos how can we resist the famed hot dog :)
We had to share the small little standing booth with other people...that's how crowded the place is.

MINO-Q 食べ放題!!
Ste and Moi went for their buffet dinner yesterday and it was so yummy!
Moi felt that it was better and cheaper than the one at Akira which Moi went with the ESP ladies.
Here's what we ordered,
- The Katsu-don tasted so good with its sweet sauce and yummy egg...hmmm i like!
- Ste's plate of sashimi, "It's very fresh and good" quoted Ste.
- Ste's 2 servings of Chawan-mushi...it's supposedly so good that she had to have 2...
- Our feast of Tempura (prawns, fish, mushroom and sweet potatoes), agedashi tofu, teppanyaki chicken and many more...
- Our assortment of sushi (inari, tempura maki and salmon skin)
- Our grilled saba and grilled aji (which we didn't take any photos cos we were both too full by then to take out our cameras...)
Ex and present ESP-ians, let's go there and feasssst...okie?

Singapore Men
Men...they play with our emotions, insensitive and can't even take obvious hints...
Well, here's something (hopefully) to shed some light into their minds.
On 5th Dec, Ngee Ann Poly's School of Business & Accountancy (my Alma Mater) presented the results of a survey where about 800 Singaporean men aged 25-59 were interviewed.
Interesting facts:
- 34% of the men had no reservations about marrying a woman who was better educated, earned more, or came from a wealthier family.
(But if the woman was taller than them, this dropped to 22%) - 6 in 10 men said it's up to them to make the first move, as is footing the bill.
Some double standards (men!!):
- Half the men would not marry a woman who smoked
(Yet 28% of the men surveyed were regular smokers...) - 12% of men found it "forgivable" if a husband has an affair
(compared to only 8% who were willing to forgive a wife who strays) - 21% said they would not marry someone who is not a virgin
(but 31% said they were "OK" with pre-marital sex)
Bottomline:
Looking at the results of the survey,
if we are Taller than the men, better educated than the men, smokes and not a virgin anymore...we are screwed gals...
So unfair! Hope they do a survey on women and then it'll be pay back time baby... *evil evil*

French food
Toi brought moi for our first French food experience at The French Stall.
We had soup, escargots simmered in garlic butter and chicken liver pate for appetizers.
For main course, Toi had the chicken thigh and Moi ordered the duck thigh.
But moi's gastric wasn't feeling too good that day so had to skip dessert and didn't really get to enjoy all the yummy food...have to apologize to Toi for spoiling the mood too...

Stepping away
Steps is so much fun!
Been stepping for close to a year and a half now and still not sian.
Waiting for class to start...
My pink water bottle reserving board for our Steps Prince ...
But the steps classes does get very territorial...
There were numerous occasions where I have been shoved and stared at just cos I didn't move fast enough while getting the boards or cos I have 'invaded' someone's 'spot'...
I remember once where my towel was already on the floor, 'chopping' place but this fellow stepper supposedly from the healthcare sector went to place her silly board right on top of my towel!!! So rude :(

Melaka welcomed Toi and Moi
DAY 1
Toi and Moi were at Melaka last week and boy were we impressed! The roads are definitely cleaner and better organized than KL.
Moi was so hungry when we reached Melaka at around 1330hrs so we went to have A&W!
Toi's kind uncle came to pick us up from the bus terminal back to his home and brought us to this road side stall for more food despite our 2 piece chicken over at A&W less than 1/2 hour ago...we had braised duck noodles which is like nothing we had ever tasted... :)
It was home cooked dinner at his uncle's place before we set off to Mahkota Parade Shopping Centre for some shopping. We just couldn't resist eating again haha...had to have some pizza!
Toi's friendly relatives came to pick us up after our shopping and brought us to this place call Newton Food Court for supper. Toi alone had 13 sticks of satay!! The wanton mee is to die for (better than the ones we had back in KL) you noe!
DAY 2
Toi's auntie made us some yam cake for breakfast...hmmm Moi still prefer the one at Chinatown leh... After that it's back to Mahkota for more shopping and food!
We shared a plate of Pasta with Chicken at Kenny Rogers for breakfast.
After dinner, we went to this place call "Chee Cheong street"?? - dun really noe the exact name...Anyway it's more food for us. It's like our local pasar malam only bigger with more interesting buys. It's also crowded. Something like Chinatown's market during CNY.
First stop, the Hee Kiaw noodles - this noodle dish is only found in Melaka. It is noodles with an assortment of fish toppings such as fish balls, fish cake slices, seasoned with dark soy sauce.
Next stop, char kuey. Ok la...frankly speaking, I've had better ones in Singapore.
And of course how can we give the famous chicken rice ball a miss?
Despite our already bloated stomaches, we had to give it a try. Verdict: rice ball is a tad "tua" for our liking, chicken itself tastes okie only. We'll still stick by our plate of chicken rice @ katong.
Toi's only regret is not having the stomach to chomp down their laska...we'll KIV that...
DAY 3
Had a packet of chee cheong fun before setting off to the bus terminal to catch our bus back to Singapore. En route back to SIN, we wrestled with the idea of stopping by at JB for more yummy Japanese food! We are mad really!!!
We couldn't succumb to the temptation eventually...Eating halfway before Moi realized she forgot to take pics! (sorry for the incomplete pics!)
