Melaka welcomed Toi and Moi

DAY 1
Toi and Moi were at Melaka last week and boy were we impressed! The roads are definitely cleaner and better organized than KL.

Look they even have a nice man-made waterfall by the highway.

Moi was so hungry when we reached Melaka at around 1330hrs so we went to have A&W!

Toi's kind uncle came to pick us up from the bus terminal back to his home and brought us to this road side stall for more food despite our 2 piece chicken over at A&W less than 1/2 hour ago...we had braised duck noodles which is like nothing we had ever tasted... :)

It was home cooked dinner at his uncle's place before we set off to Mahkota Parade Shopping Centre for some shopping. We just couldn't resist eating again haha...had to have some pizza!
Nice cool slurpy coke float

Toi's friendly relatives came to pick us up after our shopping and brought us to this place call Newton Food Court for supper. Toi alone had 13 sticks of satay!! The wanton mee is to die for (better than the ones we had back in KL) you noe!
The Popiah
The wanton mee
The fishball noodles
The evidence: 13 satay sticks!

DAY 2
Toi's auntie made us some yam cake for breakfast...hmmm Moi still prefer the one at Chinatown leh... After that it's back to Mahkota for more shopping and food!
We shared a plate of Pasta with Chicken at Kenny Rogers for breakfast.

12:30hrs We had lunch back at Shakey's again! It's just too good!
Went to the temple to pray after that and then it's off to their local pasar malam for more light snacking. The chee cheong fun was made on-the-spot and it's so yummy! We should have pass on the mua chee tho'...Singapore's one better. We went back home after that to have home-cooked dinner by Toi's auntie. The braised pork was very good.

After dinner, we went to this place call "Chee Cheong street"?? - dun really noe the exact name...Anyway it's more food for us. It's like our local pasar malam only bigger with more interesting buys. It's also crowded. Something like Chinatown's market during CNY.

First stop, the Hee Kiaw noodles - this noodle dish is only found in Melaka. It is noodles with an assortment of fish toppings such as fish balls, fish cake slices, seasoned with dark soy sauce.

Next stop, char kuey. Ok la...frankly speaking, I've had better ones in Singapore.

And of course how can we give the famous chicken rice ball a miss?
Despite our already bloated stomaches, we had to give it a try. Verdict: rice ball is a tad "tua" for our liking, chicken itself tastes okie only. We'll still stick by our plate of chicken rice @ katong.
Toi's only regret is not having the stomach to chomp down their laska...we'll KIV that...

DAY 3
Had a packet of chee cheong fun before setting off to the bus terminal to catch our bus back to Singapore. En route back to SIN, we wrestled with the idea of stopping by at JB for more yummy Japanese food! We are mad really!!!

We couldn't succumb to the temptation eventually...Eating halfway before Moi realized she forgot to take pics! (sorry for the incomplete pics!)

Bringing you around this little tropical country of Singapore (and sometimes overseas) in search of yummy food!
在这个巴掌大的热带小国新加坡,到底哪里有好吃的东西呢?
你一定会刮目相看的,就让我带你走遍全岛(偶尔离边境不远的邻邦),去探寻美味珍馐吧!
