Curry chicken noodles @ Toa Payoh

Moi went back to Toa Payoh to visit the hair salon and had the curry chicken noodles for dinner.

Moi used to have the noodles almost every other day when she was in Polytechnic.

Everyday after school, Moi would packet lunch (curry chicken noodles today, ngoh hiang the next day...too bad the ngoh hiang shifted to old airport liao...so far away), shower and enjoy her yummylicious lunch after a hard day in school :)

Strawberry Flower

Have you seen the flower of a strawberry before?

Moi saw it yesterday at a Japanese supermarket.
It's so sweet, pink and delicate.
They were selling a box of 11 strawberries for $26.90!!Fwah...
Nay...can you see the little pink flower in front? :) so pretty.

V-day Dinner

Toi and Moi had our dinner at the usual Turkish cafe.

Was so yummy!
Moi had Chicken doner set with savoury white rice pilaf.
Toi had Stewed lamb with savoury white rice pilaf.

It was so good (^-^)v

V'llage Dinner

After another grueling Double Steps session, Steps Prince and Moi went over to V'llage for dinner.
We shared a plate of calamari and ordered a soup each.

Moi had mushroom soup, Steps Prince had clam chowder.
The soup wasn't warm at all...:(
Calamari was good tho'

Moi's mushroom soup with onion bread.
The onion bread's oily...

Calamari...yum yum.
So was Steps Prince's garlic bread.

Tasty noodles in pretty bowl

Had breakfast with Toi at one of the hawker centre last Saturday morning.

The noodles I had was nice and served in a pretty porcelain bowl.
See the pretty bowl already very happy
and full of appetite liao :)

Not satisfying vegetarian dinner

It was to celebrate Toi's dad's bday that we went to this famous vegetarian restaurant at Far East Square...total disappointment.

Firstly, the tables that we was reserved for us was so dirrrrty!

Black dust particles were visible everywhere, from the table cloths, plates and cups...yucks.

We requested to change tables and the waitress didn't even apologize for the less than hygienic setting!

Secondly, service was so so poor. Very slow and unresponsive. 80% of the restaurant was full but most of them were having the steamboat buffet at the other side of the restaurant. Seems like they couldn't handle the amount of patrons...
Here's where the dust might have come from, we noticed that the aircon vent is so very dusty and dirty...yikes...
See, black black one... :(
Food also not yummy...
Spinach soup...
Fried vegetarian dish...so saltish
Stir fry vegetables, this one still OK
Braised green leafy vegetables served with Fa-choi...OK la
Braised tofu...forgettable
Stir fry Ee-fu noodles...bland
That's all we had but it costs S$225.
Not yummy yet expensive...
Throughout the dinner, I was thinking about my S$4 a bowl, satisfaction guaranteed, curry chicken noodles at Hong Lim, just a short walk from the restaurant...

夕食@南蛮亭Nambantei Dinner

Ste, Misty, Steps Prince and Moi had dinner there on Friday evening.
Here's a summary of what we had...(in order sequence)

Steps Prince's Premium Yebisu beer
Tempura Moriawase
(From left to right)
Potato Maki (Potato wrapped in Pork), Chicken with Leek, Tsukune (chicken balls)
Sashimi Salad
(Clockwise from back)
Yaki scallop, Karaage, Gyoza
Yaki corn
Chicken with asparagus, chicken with leek (again) and Potato maki (again, not shown in pic)
Yaki chicken wings
Total bill came up to around $40 per pax...pretty pricy.
Here's our rating,
Ste: 7~7.5
Misty: 8
Steps Prince: 7 (but he later brought it down half a notch to 6.5 after seeing the bill haha...)
Moi: 8
Overall, all the yaki stuff were good as that's their speciality. The fried stuff (agemono) were forgettable.
Must try: Potato maki, Tsukune, Sashimi salad

Dinner @ Taka basement

Moi and Steps Prince went for dinner yesterday night after steps class.
We went to the little stall at Taka basement.
Hmmm...not bad.
Moi had Yaki Ika set, Steps Prince had Gindara Teriyaki Set and we shared an Oden set too.
They served seafood miso soup which was very good.
The Oden Set: So-so only. Soup not tasty enough.

The Gindara Teriyaki set: Gindara was so fresh and soft!
Yummy!

Moi's Yaki Ika set: Yum Yum!

Moi gave 7/10, the oden soup and teriyaki sauce could have been thicker and tastier.
Steps Prince gave 7.5/10 because the food wasn't served warm enough.
But we saw the chef grill the food right in front of our eyes, he even grilled the ika loooong enough leh...maybe it's just all for show???
